DMCA Policy

Effective date: June 2, 2026

Porch respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) (“DMCA”). This policy describes how to report copyright infringement and how we handle such reports.

To submit a DMCA notice, email: dmca@getporch.app. We review all notices and respond within 2 business days.

Designated Copyright Agent

Porch has designated a Copyright Agent to receive notifications of claimed infringement. To be effective under the DMCA, your notice must be submitted to our designated agent:

Note: Porch's DMCA agent is being registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. Until registration is confirmed, all DMCA notices should be submitted to the email address above, which we monitor continuously.

Filing a Takedown Notice

If you believe that content hosted on Porch infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice. To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of such works.
  • Identification of the infringing material. A description of the material you claim is infringing, sufficient to allow Porch to locate it — including the full URL of the Porch where the infringing content appears.
  • Your contact information. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • Good faith statement. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • Accuracy statement. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or their authorized representative.

Warning:Submitting a false or fraudulent DMCA notice may expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), including monetary damages, attorney's fees, and costs.

Our Takedown Process

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, Porch will:

  • Review the notice for completeness and apparent validity
  • Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
  • Notify the user who posted the material that it has been removed
  • Provide the user with a copy of the notice (with your personal contact information redacted where appropriate)

Counter-Notice

If you believe that content you posted was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) must include:

  • Identification of removed material. A description of the material that was removed and the location (URL) where it appeared before removal.
  • Good faith statement. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Consent to jurisdiction. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or the District of Delaware if outside the U.S.), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
  • Your contact information. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • Signature. Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant and restore the removed content within 10–14 business days unless the complainant files a court action seeking to restrain you from engaging in the infringing activity.

Repeat Infringers

Porch has a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers. A user who receives multiple valid DMCA notices may have their account suspended or permanently terminated, at Porch's sole discretion.
